Healing Nature Leaf Column is part of the University of Houston's public art collection. The Column stands at the entrance to the recreation and wellness center on the University's central campus. The 51 feet high stainless steel sculpture is internally illuminated becoming a beacon at night for the building's entrance. Inside the entrance a companion, Leaf Canopy hangs from the rotunda ceiling. The leaves are fabricated from aluminum.

USA Monument

USA Monument was commissioned in 1992 for the exhibition, "Silhouettes of the Southwest", at the Staten Island Cultural Center. The show featured artists from Texas and New Mexico.

"Tim Glover satirically suggests a classic road sign with his USA Monument, the letters U, S, and A are formed with rusty metal tubing and capped with a knife and fork that distinctly recall the upright pitchfork in Grant Wood's American Gothic."

Light Garden

These stainless steel branched forms are sited at either side of the Washington Avenue entrance to the Washington and Westcott Roundabout in Houston, Texas. The pieces stand 25 feet high each and are topped with polycarbonate encased LED's that change color by computer program. Light Garden's shape mimics the grasses of the Texas coastal prairie.

Cactus

1988

This project involved an educational and apprenticeship/mentor program with MECCA in the Sixth Ward community of Houston, Texas. The artist worked with community youth to produce the sculpture and provide workshops for MECCA's summer art camp. The sculpture features water drinking fountains for small and tall folk.

Projector was sited at the Buffalo Bayou Exhibit during The 18th international Sculpture Conference in Houston, Texas. Internal illumination was an early interest of the artist and continues to be an important element in his work.

Helix

2004

Helix was commissioned for Lexicon's headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas. The sculpture features an open zig-zag incision that divides and offers a glimpse through the twisting form.

Hot Rod Mustang

Hot Rod Mustang is a tribute to the Car Culture of America from the horse and carriage to the "horse power" of the popular muscle car. Hot Rod Mustang resides in the collection of Houston Intercontinental Airport, terminal A.

Snake and Rake

This piece tells the story of the conflict between the garden tool and the slithering serpent. The serpent seems to outwit the rake for the time being.

Daddy-O-House

Daddy-O-House pays tribute to the artist's home surf break on the upper Texas coast, where stilt houses stand against the mighty Gulf of Mexico, battered by hurricanes and high tides. Octagon house, once a surfers landmark, now a memory to a local tribe.

Be Bop A Gasser (for Dizzy)

A love of music and especially jazz of the be bop era inspired this wall mounted sculpture with a nod to trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie.

Marvin's Message

Marvin Gay wrote a beautiful song titled, "What's Going On". This wall piece comprised of individual hand forged steel leaves with letters cut into them creates a mandala of the song's lyrics.

Cube in Sphere

1997

This sculpture is part of a series that explores the illusion of space and physical form. The plate steel form is cut into separate puzzle-like pieces that fit together to complete a sphere. A cube floats inside the vine covered sphere suggesting the merge of human constructs and the natural world.

Tex/Mex Table

Glover's work sometimes takes a functional application in designs of furniture, fixtures, and architectural enhancements. Tex/Mex Table is an example of the artists interest in geography as it emphasizes the contour of south Texas to create a negative shape of the state. The border is formed with a 3 in edge that symbolizes the complicated geopolitics of the US/Mexico border, the edge of an abyss, and the canyon walls of the upper Rio Grande.

Leaf Fountain

Glover created this fountain for a private residence. The artist collaborated with the architect and builder to incorporate the installation of the fountain to the site.

Octopus

This chandelier is an example of the artist's whimsical approach to his subject. Using a combination of modern fabrication, traditional forging, and found objects, Glover fuses all the elements together in a funky mechanical sea creature.

The Navigation Lamp is made to resemble a channel buoy. The base is set at an angle to give an appearance of bobbing in the swells. This lamp is a memory of times working offshore in the Gulf coast fishing industry.

This floor lamp is inspired by Italian modern design Ca. 1960-70. The high polished stainless steel and the extended red tip add a bold gesture of Italian Modernism to the form.

Satellite Lamp

The Satellite Lamp is inspired by my interest in the cosmos and our human need to build technology that can explore it. The lamp reflects a directed light aimed at its polished stainless steel disc. The resulting reflection is cast to the opposite wall, like a signal is transmitted through the cosmos.

Bayou Madonna is a tribute to the bayous that run through Houston. It was on the banks of Buffalo Bayou that the artist made his first public art installation in 1987.
